For several venues, you have the option of purchasing either through a special sale (BUY SPECIAL) or from the venue or the venue’s agent (BUY FROM VENUE). If reserved seating is offered, check both options for the best seat. As a general rule, fees are lower at BUY SPECIAL. You may have to register for BUY SPECIAL, but registration is simple and free. Also, BUY SPECIAL usually has an option to buy a VIP package for a flat $75.00, but if both general admission and reserved seating is available at a venue, the VIP package is probably general admission only.

Jack Ingram and Scott Miller joined Patty at a show that was for the benefit of Grounded in Music, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation whose sole mission is to change the lives of under-privileged children grade four through 12 by exposing them to the possibilities available by choosing music as a career, hobby, or alternative to life on the streets. Held in Driftwood, Texas, just south of Austin, Old Settler’s Music Festival is Central Texas’ signature music event featuring Grammy winning Americana, arts & crafts, camping, food & libations. Acoustic jazz & blues, bluegrass, old-time local faves & award-winning artists from around the world.  The festival runs April 15-17.

Patty joined Jack at his show on November 12, 2009.

At the BMI Country Awards on November 11, 2009, legendary Kris Kristofferson was recognized as a BMI Icon.  As noted in the AP story on the ceremony:

Willie Nelson, Patty Griffin and Vince Gill paid tribute to Kristofferson, who cried during Griffin’s rendition of “Help Me Make it Through the Night.”
